The Kraken is fought shortly after you obtain the Raft in Bedoe and immediately before you reach Hassan.
Strategy[]
Since you have little space to move about, most of the time any given leg or arm will only be reachable by one party member, meaning only one character can attack it and thus, they will die slower. Ranger characters like May, Chester and Kazin are very helpful in this fight as they can still attack arms and legs when others couldn't. Luke and Peter are also invaluable due to their flight and it is highly recommended they stay alive for this fight. Once you take out the arms and legs (or at least most of them) you can engage the head by getting in its attack range. He usually sticks to the top right somewhere. Lure him near the raft and take him out with everything you have. Watch out though, as the Kraken Head can spit out bubbles from afar dealing heavy damage.
