Wolflings (ウルフリング, Urufuringu?) are a somewhat common race in the Shining series, though most games have only one in them.

Race[]

Wolflings are completely covered with fur of varied color. Though usually grey, they can be brown, too. Wolflings stand on two legs and use their arms and hands like humans do. They have wolf-like heads, clawed hands and feet. Many wolflings don't like wear boots or shoes, they prefer to be barefoot. Most wolflings, it seems, do not have tails. Most Warwolf wolflings use a clawlike weapon to slash their opponent (not a gameplay element). Ninja wolflings can use magic.

Wolflings can usually be found in mountainous or forest habitats, as this is where they are best suited for battle. When promoted or other advanced status, most wolflings can summon Wolf Spirits to aid them in their battle.

Wolflings are often confused with beastmen, who do not start out looking wolf-like but gain hair as they grow older and stronger.
